The simplest – simplest being a relative term in this instance – items to acquire in DK 64 are the boss keys. All you need to do in order to get those. Out The final 'regular' boss is a cardboard cut-out of K. Use each Kong and blast them to the giant piece of paper. Rool edit To defeat K Rool you will need to use all the Kongs.

The Beginner Guide, Intermediate Route, and Advanced Route are all based on the “Caves Earliest” Route that visits Crystal Caves first and frees all of the kongs through their intended methods. If you have never run DK64 before, the Beginner Guide will be helpful as it removes all of the difficult glitches and explains the route in great detail. If you have any experience running DK64, starting with the Intermediate Route is standard. The Advanced Route is also available to see what the fastest methods are, and you may transition from the Intermediate to Advanced Route as you see fit.
The Castle Kongs route is more difficult, and may not be faster on Wii U VC. If you are running on N64, it is possibly faster, but the exact timings are unknown at the moment. The start of the run is completely different as the kongs are freed in Creepy Castle’s boss instead of through their intended methods. There are two different Castle Kongs routes where either Frantic Factory or Jungle Japes are the first full levels completed and where most moves are purchased. The route that visits Frantic Factory for moves is 30-60 seconds faster than the route that visits Jungle Japes for moves; however, it is more difficult.
While the VC Version is faster for 101%, the routes are still very similar between the two versions. The only major differences include several lag clips added into the N64 route. Gloomy Galleon is also significantly different between the two versions.

Saves are made using Znernicus’s 6:17 route. Still a good resource for ILs if you have access to a gameshark 3.0 or above and a dexdrive. Since it's based off an older route, the saves themselves are outdated, but still useful. Made by Kiwikiller67

Banana 1: Just talk to Diddy.Banana 2: Free Diddy be shooting the three coconut switches with your gun.Banana 3: Pound the DK switch near Cranky’s hut. The switch is under a hut that you need to use Rambi to destroy, and then it frees a banana near the first tunnel.Banana 4: Complete the first Barrel Blast level.Banana 5: Kill the yellow haired Krusha in the tunnel where there was the second coconut switch for the Blueprint. Diddy Kong Banana 1: In the entrance tunnel there is a small cave.
Shoot the peanut switches to get to the banana.Banana 2: Stomp the Diddy switch (again under a hut), and then use the #4 teleporter to get to the banana before the timer runs out.Banana 3: Enter the mountain (by shooting the peanut switch on the side), then shoot the peanut switch inside which will then extend a bridge. Walk across the bridge and pound a switch to make a banana appear on top of the mountain.Banana 4: Deeper in the mountain, ram the switch, then climb up to the large pipe. Enter the pipe, complete the mine cart bonus stage, and you will receive the fourth banana. Banana 5: Kill the red haired Krusha using the peanut gun for a Blueprint.
Tiny Kong Banana 1: Shoot the switches in the first cave to play a bonus stage for a banana.Banana 2: Just like Diddy, pound the Tiny switch and use the teleporter to get to the banana before time runs out.Banana 3: Shrink, and go into the shell. Open the doors, and then you will get the banana.Banana 4: Again, while shrunk jump off the mushroom and into the tree trunk.Banana 5: Find and defeat the purple haired Krusha in the tunnel and turn in the Blueprint.
Lankey Kong Banana 1: As with Tiny, enter the first cave and shoot the switches to get a bonus game for a banana.Banana 2: Again, stomp the switch near the Cranky Kong shack and race to the banana before time runs out.Banana 3: Use Lanky’s special handstand move to walk up the steep hills in the tunnel leading to Cranky. In there is a bonus round barrel that will score you a banana.Banana 4: Again, use the handstand move to climb up the steep hill where there was a peanut switch that Diddy shot. Inside, stomp on the two pegs to reveal the banana.Banana 5: In the tunnels near Cranky’s is the blue haired Krusha, which will score you the Blueprint. Chunky Kong Banana 1: Once again, you have to stomp a switch, but this one is hidden. It is behind the giant Rambi wall, which you need to use Rambi to break open.
Then you have to throw the large rock there to find the switch. Once you stomp the switch, use the teleporter near Cranky’s to get to the water. Then climb up the vine and jump on top of Funky’s. From there, jump from the top of the banana to the next ledge and run as fast as you can to the banana before the timer reaches zero.Banana 2: The second banana is in the large rock on top of the large 'X' panel near the entrance tunnel. Throw the rock to get the banana.Banana 3: After you toss the rock, stomp the 'X' until it breaks, and you will drop down into a small cave.
Walk to the end of the cave and shoot the two switches in the skull.Banana 4: Go into the same area where Tiny used her shrinking ability. On the center platform of the area Tiny can use his special ability to reach a bonus barrel.Banana 5: Chunky’s Blueprint waits for him in the tunnel under the “X” square.
